Free vs Paid subscription
Free version of Issue Checklist (Acceptance Criteria) comes with all the features available in both Pro (paid) and Enterprise (paid) versions, except those marked as excluded or limited in the comparison table below.
Usage limitations
Free version allows adding/showing only 20 checkbox items per Jira issue (separators don't count towards the limit) and 6 checklist templates.
Over-the-limit items added to the checklist (e.g., before the limit was introduced or through a custom field) are saved but not displayed to the user.
Issue Checklist Free (Acceptance Criteria Free) users can see over-the-limit items in one of the following ways:
- Through the editor
- Through the Text or YAML custom fields
- Deleting some visible items
- Upgrading to the Pro version (it is paid version but with 30 days free trial and no limits at all).
Support
Free, Pro and Enterprise versions are supported.
Pro and Enterprise version users are entitled to priority support (including on-call if necessary).

Installation (upgrade or downgrade)
Migrating between Free and Pro versions preserves all checklist data automatically (checklist items and templates).
Free and Pro versions share most of the configuration settings, excluding validator and read-only custom field.
Upgrading or downgrading between Free and Pro versions can be performed an unlimited number of times.
Upgrade the Free version to Pro steps:
- Install paid version Issue Checklist Pro in Jira (go to Jira Settings > Apps > Find new apps page and search for Issue Checklist Pro 🏆)
- The doubled checklist will be displayed on the issue page as long as both apps are installed (proceed to the next step to fix it).
- Uninstall Issue Checklist Free (from Jira Settings > Apps > Manage apps page) - this step is safe as it preserves all checklist data.
- If you block issue transitions using "All checklist items are completed" validator, then please update the workflow to use the validator from the newly installed version.
- Enjoy! Your checklist items and templates are already there.
Downgrade from the Pro version to the Free steps:
- Install free version Issue Checklist Free in Jira (go to Jira Settings > Apps > Find new apps page and search for Issue Checklist Free)
- The doubled checklist will be displayed on the issue page as long as both apps are installed (proceed to the next step to fix it).
- Uninstall Issue Checklist Pro (from Jira Settings > Apps > Manage apps page) - this step is safe as it preserves all checklist data.
- If you block issue transitions using "All checklist items are completed" validator, then please update the workflow to use the validator from the newly installed version.
- Enjoy! Your checklist items and templates are already there.
After the upgrade/downgrade:
- All the checklist data like items, templates, etc. are instantly available (data is shared between Pro and Free checklist apps).
- Custom fields hold the current data instantly (custom fields and their data are shared between Pro and Free checklist apps).
- The checklist panel will be displayed in the default position on the issue page (beneath Description). Users can move the Checklist to the other position if they wish.
