Introduction

This page describes how to block the workflow transition if the checklist is empty.

As a result, the checklist must contain one or more items to move the issue to another status (e.g., Done or Resolved).

This guide works for Classic projects only. Next-Gen projects do not support workflow validators (Jira limitation).

Prerequisites

None. "Save checklist data to Jira custom fields" option from Issue Checklist Global Settings does not influence this feature.

Please follow the steps described in https://herocoders.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/IC/pages/728039472 page, but in step #5, select “Checklist is not empty” validator as presented on the screenshot below:

Please note having a separator only in the checklist will still block the transition.
