What is a template?
A template is a predefined list of checklist items. It can be loaded manually into an issue at any time or be applied automatically when an issue is created.
Creating a template

3. Give the template a name | 4. Done: the template was saved |
Applying a template
If you try to apply a template to a checklist that is not empty you will be asked the append / overwrite question.
1. Select "Load template" from the menu | 2. Select a template inside the dialog |
3. (optional) Select whether to append the new items or overwrite the existing checklist | 4. Done: checklist was updated |
Managing a template
Unless you are a project administrator you can only edit, rename or delete templates that were created by you.
Only project administrators canĀ set a template as the default checklist.
To perform an action on a template first open the dialog:
1. Select "Manage templates" from the menu | 2a. Exemplary dialog content for project administrators | 2b. Exemplary dialog content for users who aren't project administrators |
Editing / viewing a template
If you don't have the permission to edit a template you'll still be able to view it in the dialog as a checklist but you won't be capable of modifying it.
1a. Exemplary read-only view | 1b. Exemplary view of a modified template | 2. Click save and you'll be notified about the update |

Setting a template as the default checklist
Project administrators can associate a template with a project / issue type combination so that every newly created issue will come with prepopulated checklist.
