This feature allows us to define hourly costs per user and track them in timesheets. Now, you can seamlessly monitor project labor costs alongside logged work, helping you stay on budget and make more informed decisions.
The feature is currently in BETA state in Clockwork Pro. Applying rates to multiple users at once is a missing feature. Our team is aware that this is a needed improvement and will work towards it in the upcoming months.
Defining costs & rates
To define the hourly cost or rate for a given user, visit the Users page. To get there, select Apps from the top navigation bar > Clockwork, then on the left panel, select Users.
There, you can add and edit user configurations like this:
The cost and/or rate defined here will be applied to all worklogs added for the given user.
We are aware that applying the same rate to all worklogs added by a user is not the ideal representation of how businesses operate as not all work done by an employee can be billed to the client, and we will work towards a more flexible solution in the upcoming months.
For now, we recommend using a custom worklog attribute of type checkbox to track which worklogs are billable and to filter by that attribute when calculating revenue from work done.
Reviewing costs and billable time
To view costs or rates on the timesheet, open one, then click on the Format selector (the second-last icon in the top bar on the right, usually showing HH:MM), like this:
